Miami, FL (March 31, 2010) – Erykah Badu has an iconic voice, unique look and unforgettable presence. Her powerful and melodic music is making way to South Florida on April 8th off the heels of her March 30th album release, New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh. Her hit single “Jump In The Air (Stay There)” featuring Lil Wayne and Bilal was leaked to her website in February. The viral video “Window Seat” coincided with her album release yesterday, stirring up nationwide controversy and media frenzy by earning millions of hits in just minutes. Through her renewed passion and anticipation for this fifth studio album, Erykah channeled the ankh, commonly known to mean ‘life.’
She has been highly noted for her chic-eccentric sense of fashion and regarded as one of the most timeless artists of our generation. An intimate show is sure to leave a lasting impression for audiences inside the sold-out 5,600 capacity Waterfront Theatre at the AmericanAirlines Arena. This popular venue, located in the heart of Downtown Miami, is the home of the NBA Miami HEAT.
Concert-goers will not only have a chance hear Badu up close and personal, but also experience the soulful tunes of opening acts, recording artist Bilal and pianist Robert Glasper.
